Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Faculdade de Medicina Veterinária da Universidade de Lisboa in 2005.

Completed a postgraduate diploma in Veterinary Ophthalmology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2008.

Completed the William Magrane Basic Science Course in Veterinary and Comparative Ophthalmology at the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

She obtained a Master’s degree in 2010 and a PhD in Veterinary Sciences (clinical specialty) in 2018 from the Faculdade de Medicina Veterinária da Universidade de Lisboa. Her doctoral thesis focused on “Subconjunctival administration of erythropoietin in an experimental animal model of glaucoma”.

She is the author of scientific articles published in international peer-reviewed journals and has presented numerous communications at national and international congresses in Veterinary Ophthalmology. She received the Best Oral Communication Award at the European Society of Veterinary Ophthalmology (ESVO) International Congress in 2013 and 2014, and the Best Oral Communication Award at the Montenegro Veterinary Hospital Congress in 2015.

She is currently the Clinical Director of VETVISÃO, the only REOVVA-affiliated center in Portugal, where she practices advanced clinical and surgical veterinary ophthalmology.

She is a PhD-qualified faculty member and Professor of Veterinary Ophthalmology at Universidade Lusófona, where she is responsible for teaching Clinical Ophthalmology within the Veterinary Medicine degree programme since 2019.
